  • This filter is a panel-type filter. Hoover part number 43611042 is a cylindrical filter. Don’t buy this filter if you need part number 43611042; go to google and check there (for instance http://www.google.com/search?q=43611042+hepa&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official).

  • The filter would have been perfectly fine if it were not for the exception that there was no sealing surface. I had to add weather striping to the outer edge to provide sealing. I could only assume that these are reject parts. May be vendor dependent

  • Despite other Amazon customers warning about this merchant shipping bogus parts, given the dramatic price difference between Hoover’s website and this price (nearly three times as expensive,) I decided to give this one a try. It arrived via USPS in a timely manner in a manila envelope containing the otherwise unprotected, but miraculously undamaged Hoover box. However, just as others have complained, the product, as shipped is USELESS. The proper Hoover HEPA filter has a thin rubber gasket all the way around the perimeter which is designed and sized to mate with the perimeter of the rectangular cavity on the side of the Hoover vacuum, thereby sealing the output of the vacuum exhaust so that all the air coming out has to pass through this filter.

This bogus part shipped to us, stands out in three respects:

    1. It has no gasket around its perimeter

    2. It has four prominent plastic corner posts which position, by friction fit, the filter properly into the vacuum’s cavity opening, but in so doing, create a 1/8″ gap around the entire perimeter of the filter which creates a bypass around the filter, rendering it useless.

    3. It has a slightly larger white plastic border, thereby reducing the effective filter area, though this shortcoming, given the big perimeter gap problem, is sadly irrelevant.

That Amazon continues to list this product… and this merchant, despite multiple years of complaints from customers undermines Amazon’s credibility and is very disappointing.

  • This product reduces the amount of dust in the vacuum cleaner exhaust. I don’t understand why the previous review complained about the product just because it wasn’t the correct filter for the vacuum they owned. It fits the Hoover, bagged wind tunnel vacuum for which it is intended.
